| Monroe County Executive Jack Doyle today announced a new county program to reduce emission levels within the county's vehicle fleet. The new initiative partners the county with local Castle Hi-Tech for cleaner operating vehicles. "Monroe County's significant vehicle fleet operation will run cleaner as a result of our latest partnership with Castle Hi-Tech," said Doyle. "This new program will ensure that our existing and future internal combustion vehicles operate at optimum efficiency and run with the cleanest emissions. Monroe County has consistently worked toward the cleanest fleet of vehicles possible and we will also continue to seek out ways to incorporate electric and alternate fuel vehicles where practical." Castle Hi-Tech has participated with county fleet in an initial pilot program of 15 vehicles. Using Castle's state-of-the-art Ultimate Tune-up process and industry experience, this initial pilot demonstrated significant reductions in emissions. County Fleet operations will now introduce this process as a part of regular maintenance on all internal combustion vehicles, including those powered by gasoline, diesel fuel, and natural gas. "As a local company, Castle is very proud to partner with Monroe County to incorporate our expertise and patented Ultimate Tune-up system to improve county fleet emissions," said Castle Hi-Tech President Ewald Blatter. "In an age when we are all more conscious of our environment, Monroe County is leading by example when it comes to cleaner burning vehicles." Using a four-gas analyzer, the initial 15 pilot vehicles were all tested both before and after the Castle Ultimate Tune-up process was used. The results showed marked improvement for Hydro Carbon, Carbon Monoxide, Oxygen, and Carbon Dioxide emissions in the vehicles. |
