Concord, NC (May 3, 2005): GRIZCO Racing has officially announced
that Andy Santerre has committed to a full season in the Busch North
Series, Grand National Division in his quest for a fourth consecutive
series crown. Castle Hi-Tech, a “top end” producer of
professional automotive chemical products and longtime associate sponsor
of Andy Santerre, has stepped up their marketing arsenal to include
a primary sponsorship of the No. 44 entry for five races. Santerre
will begin his “Tour for Four” at Lee USA Speedway on
May 15th with crew chief Roger Tryon.
Car-owner’s, Steve and Peg Griswold, announced Santerre’s
appointment as team manager earlier this year, and moved the entire
operation, which includes a fleet of cars for drivers Mike Stefanik
and Brad Leighton, to Concord, North Carolina. The possibility of
Santerre not defending his series crown sent shock waves through the
series. Castle Products, Inc. stepped up to the plate, however, and
made the possibility of Santerre getting back behind the wheel a reality.
“I am beyond excited about this year; 2005 looks to be a year
of challenges for me both on and off the track,” Santerre said.
“I have the honor of managing the top team in the Busch North
Series, I get to work with two of the best and most respected driver's
to ever race in the northeast - Brad Leighton and Mike Stefanik -
and I get the opportunity to race against them in my bid for four
consecutive championships - a feat that has never been accomplished."
Castle Hi-Tech got its beginning in 1970. In 1998, Castle built its
first Hi-Tech Training Center in Erie, PA, and today, operates a 100,000
square foot manufacturing plant in Rochester, NY. Castle’s
extensive product line includes retail and professional cleaners,
waxes, and dressings, plus hi-tech auto service kits. Castle is perhaps
best known for its Streak Proof Glass Cleaner, FIREBALL, and Dragon
Power Fuel Treatments, and POWER Octane Booster. Factory Direct salespersons
provide service throughout the east coast, from New England to Florida.
Independent distributors sell Castle in the balance of the USA and

“Castle’s unique ‘top end’ professional
quality has developed a loyal fan base,” explained Hans C.
Blatter, President of Castle. “Being involved as a sponsor
in NASCAR allows us to expand our fan base through brand awareness.
We’ve had a great deal of success and a lot of fun being involved
with Andy Santerre in the past. The Busch North Series offers the
perfect venue for conducting hospitality events, building relationships
with retailers and again, increasing our brand awareness. More importantly,
Andy has personalized our experience as a sponsor beyond our expectations.”
“I am extremely particular about what products I use on and
in my race cars and personal vehicles. I was introduced to Castle
products through a former sponsor and I have to say I was impressed
with the quality and wide range of products. Castle employs quality
people who produce quality products. I am honored to be associated
with such an innovative, family-oriented company.”
Santerre began his NASCAR racing career in 1993, earning Busch North
Series “Rookie of the Year” honors; he went on to post
21 wins, 16 poles, 75 top-five and 107 top-10 finishes on the regional
series. In 1998, Santerre moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to compete
on the NASCAR Busch Series. He continued to make a name for himself
earning top Rookie honors, scoring a pole, several top-10 finishes
and an underdog race win at Pikes Peak International Raceway. Sponsorship
opportunities dried up for the Cherryfield, Maine native, but his
four years on the national Busch Series with its elite level of prepared
Santerre for his next chapter in racing. In 2002, Santerre came back
to the regional Busch North Series and began a three year Championship
run. Santerre is only the second driver in the history of the series
to earn three series crowns.
“Some media have already dubbed my season the 'Tour for Four'.
I don't want to put added pressure on myself or the team. I just plan
to continue what I have been doing for the past three seasons, racing
hard and working even harder,” Santerre said.
The 2005 season will be Santerre’ and Castle Hi-Tech’s
fourth year together.
